Audrey Blake
Audrey Blake trained at sutton school of arts & crafts in surrey, in the mid 1930's, then moved with her family to suffolk in 1938. It wasn't until after the war that she started to exhibit widely, and began her teaching career.
Having always been a very versatile artist, drawing and painting in pencils, pastels, pen and ink, line and wash, water colours, oils and acrylics as well as some very decorated work with pewter and cold enamels, Audrey now works mainly with acrylics and palette knife. She was one of the four painters in the Chimney Mill Group when the gallery first opened in 1976 showing the groups work and we are delighted that she is still painting for us today.
